AFCEA Belvoir Scholarship Program
Proceeds from all AFCEA Belvoir chapter events and sponsorships go directly to our scholarship and grant programs. Last year alone, we donated over $180,000 to students and schools in Fairfax and Prince George’s Counties.
HIGH SCHOOL SENIOR SCHOLARSHIP
Deadline: May 21st, 2010
College scholarships of at least $2,000 each will be awarded to Fairfax County and Prince William County students majoring in the following fields of electrical, computer, chemical, systems or aerospace engineering; electronics; communications, computer science; physics; mathematics; science or mathematics education; technology management; or other technical fields at accredited degree-granting four-year colleges or universities in the United States. Majors directly related to the support of U.S. intelligence or national security enterprises with relevance to the mission of AFCEA will also be eligible. Candidates must be a High School Senior in good standing at time of application submission.
Eligibility: Applicants must be U.S. citizens enrolled full-time in a Fairfax or Prince William County public high school, have good moral character, demonstrate academic awareness, exhibit the potential to complete a 4 year degree.
Important: For consideration, applicants must provide a letter of recommendation from a non-relative community member in their school district, an acceptance letter to the college they are planning to attend, and must also complete a maximum 500 word essay on one of the following three topics:
“What a College Education Means to Me”
“The Impact of Social Networking on my life”
“My Life, My Future”
CONTINUING EDUCATION SCHOLARSHIP
Deadline: May 21st, 2010
Continuing education undergraduate scholarships of $2,500 will be awarded to current college students majoring in the following C4I-related fields of electrical, communications, computer, chemical, systems or aerospace engineering; electronics; computer science; physics; mathematics; science or mathematics education; technology
management; or other technical fields at accredited degree-granting two year or four-year colleges or universities in the United States. Majors directly related to the support of U.S. intelligence or national security enterprises with relevance to the mission of AFCEA will also be eligible. Candidates must at least be part time college students at time of submission.
Eligibility: Applicants must be U.S. citizens enrolled full-time in a 2 or 4 year accredited college, have good moral character, demonstrate academic awareness, exhibit
the potential to complete a 4 year degree, and be aligned to earn a degree in one of the C4i related fields.
Important: For consideration, applicants must provide a letter of recommendation from a non-relative community member and complete a maximum 500 word essay on one of the following three topics:
“The Value of a College Education”
“My College Experience”
“My Life, My Future”
